Quick Breakfasts for Busy Moms
If you are anything like me, your morning is a bit crazy trying to get the kids out the door in time for camp, school, and so on. As much as I want a healthy morning routine that sets me up for success, it has to wait until my redheaded four footer is out the door and on his way to school. Between temperature checks, wrangling the iPad away from him, and trying to find something for him that he will actually eat - it's just not worth the stress of feeding myself until he is out the door.
This is why I am always trying to find the quickest way to get something healthy into my stomach - because I am utterly hungry by this point. Plus, I want something easy for my stomach to digest because it is just waking up after a 12 hour fast (from after dinner to morning).
Enter my favorite: smoothies. I keep everything out on the counter in the "mom's spot" so there is no thinking. I have my micro greens, Berkley water, JoI almond milk paste, and my DNS powder all right there. It's dump, blend on high for a minute, pour over ice, and drink. It's chocolate too so it might be the best part of my day.
